Terms and Conditions for Boreal Forest Expeditions

​Deposits and Payment​

​

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place on the expedition.

Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid 90 days before the start of the trip. Failure to make the payment on time may result in the cancellation of your booking without a refund of the deposit.

Cancellation Policy

​

If you wish to cancel your booking, the following fees will apply:

90 days or more before the start of the trip: Full refund

60 to 90 days before the start: 50% refund

30 to 60 days before the start: 20% refund

Less than 30 days: No refund.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in case of unexpected cancellations.

 

Changes Made by You

If you wish to make changes to your booking, we will do our best to accommodate your request. However, changes may incur additional charges to cover any costs we incur as a result. Requests for changes must be made in writing.

 

Changes Made by Us

​

We reserve the right to make changes to the trip itinerary or structure if necessary, to ensure the safety of participants. These changes may include adjustments to routes, accommodations, or schedules due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. If we need to cancel or significantly alter the trip, you may:

Choose a new date for the same trip.

Receive a full refund, minus any non-refundable deposits made to third-party suppliers.

 

Photography Policy

Boreal Forest Expeditions reserves the right to use photographs or videos taken during the trip for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to have your image used, please inform us in writing before the trip. By not providing such notice, you consent to the use of your likeness.

 

Medical and Safety Requirements

​

It is essential that you inform us of any medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate. We reserve the right to exclude participants from certain activities or from the entire trip if their condition poses a risk to themselves or others. Safety is our top priority, and we will always ensure we are close to emergency routes.

 

Minors

​

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

Responsibilities

By booking a trip with us, you agree to:

Follow the instructions of your guide at all times.

Adhere to the packing list and safety guidelines provided in your course details.

Liability and Assumed Risk

​

Inherent Risks: By joining our expeditions, participants acknowledge that outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including, but not limited to, weather conditions, wildlife encounters, and physical demands. While we take every precaution to ensure safety, you are responsible for your own actions during the trip.

Release of Liability: Boreal Forest Expeditions is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during the trip, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Participants are advised to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and trip cancellations.

 

Behaviour and Conduct

Respect for Nature and Others: All participants are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully toward other group members, guides, and the environment. Any behaviour deemed dangerous or inappropriate may result in removal from the trip without a refund.

Alcohol and Drug Use: The use of alcohol or drugs during the trip is strictly prohibited. If any participant is found to be under the influence, we reserve the right to exclude them from the rest of the expedition without any refund.

 

Equipment Usage and Responsibility

Equipment Care: All equipment provided by Boreal Forest Expeditions must be treated with care. Participants are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the equipment due to negligence or misuse and may be charged for repairs or replacements.

 

Travel and Insurance

​

Travel Insurance: It is the responsibility of the participant to purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability. We strongly recommend having insurance in place before your departure.

Flight Changes and Delays: Boreal Forest Expeditions is not responsible for any additional costs incurred due to flight delays or changes, including missed transfers, additional accommodation, or meals.

 

Force Majeure

Unforeseen Events: Boreal Forest Expeditions is not liable for any delays, changes, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, or extreme weather conditions. In such cases, we will do our best to provide alternative arrangements, but refunds may not be possible.

 

Complaints and Feedback

​

Filing a Complaint: If you have any concerns during the expedition, please bring them to your guide's attention immediately. If the issue cannot be resolved on-site, you can file a formal complaint in writing within 7 days after the trip. We strive to address all complaints fairly and promptly.
